You have reached the site for the Seattle Puget Sound Chapter of the Society for International Development. We are located in Washington State - on the other side of the United States from our nation's capital in Washington, D.C.

While the Washington, D.C. chapter is the largest and most active SID chapter in the world, the Seattle SID Chapter aspires to be at the cutting edge of new conversations and new solutions in the world of global development.  Our chapter seeks to promote peace, prosperity, and freedom around the world by encouraging international development. Welcome to the Seattle Puget Sound SID Chapter!

We are the Seattle Puget Sound chapter of the Society for International Development ("SID"). SID is a non-profit organization founded in 1957 and headquartered in Rome, Italy. We are part of a global forum of individuals and institutions concerned with sustainable economic, social, and political development with thousands of members worldwide. In May of 2012, the founding members of the Seattle Puget Sound chapter met on beautiful Vashon Island and created this local chapter. Our mission is to bring together people who strive to make a difference in the world through development. We take a holistic, multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral approach to development. We welcome anyone interested in bringing peace, prosperity, and freedom to the world to join our organization. We will announce future meetings and events on this site. Feel free to "LIKE" our Facebook page, and subscribe to this blog by clicking "SUBSCRIBE" on the right. Come join the conversation that will change the world. JOIN Seattle SID today!
